.how we met.
Mark and Oleah first met at the Steak ’N’ Shake really late one night following a Billy Graham crusade in Jacksonville. We had each attended the rally with our own home groups, and our home groups happened to both meet at Steak ’N’ Shake. Our respective groups continued to hang out together after church and through other opportunities of hang time. The church was much smaller back then, and if you were involved in the church, you knew others in the church pretty well also.
Mark was leading the international ministry in the church. One common way to bring internationals together was through food and the international language of…dance! The next international ministry function was to be a swing dance in which Mark coordinated some instructors from the swing club on campus. Knowing that Oleah was a seasoned dancer, he invited her to the swing club to learn some basics. That quickly turned into a great hobby for both of us, and we had a blast the night that we actually had the dance function.
We continue our love of dance, though we don’t have many venues as outlets! Mostly, we dance at weddings and when we’re forced to compete! Recently, we won two dance contests on vacation and won two cruises to the Bahamas!
