.philippine travel update.
19 January 2009so my trip here is not going quite as planned. but it’s all good. god had a plan for me not to go to butuan right away to meet my sponsored child. there were some crazy travel experiences that i’ll have to talk about at some point. i felt like matthew perry on fools rush in…”donde esta tamazula? trambia. tamazula? trambia. what is a trambia? dat bus over there.” or tom hanks being stuck at the airport in “the terminal.” anyway, i finally was able to connect with my parents in cebu after a plane ride in first class (they didn’t have any other seats and i certainly wasn’t going to wait anymore) and a 2 hour boat ride in the evening. i enjoyed seeing them and some other families. there was a huge parade going on, the biggest party of the year. i was so glad happy to join my cousin kristine at her church for the beginning of a soul-winning conference at her bible baptist church. it was interesting to hear american missionaries preach to the crowd of filipinos. i was just doing that last week. i rebooked my flight for tomorrow and will be able to visit my sponsored child. i’m glad my dad will be joining me. i’m sure it will be a great experience for both of us. for those that are praying, please continue to pray for good weather, safety, and for the trip to be a blessing to all.
