.heart issues.
8 January 2009the other day i visited my wife’s cousin, spencer, in the hospital. here’s a 16-year old kid who has been in the hospital throughout the holidays due to heart complications. i was there when he just found out that he’ll continue to be there for up to 6 more weeks. then he’ll have heart surgery, which of course means he’ll be there even longer after that. please pray for him to get better quickly, for his time there to be minimized, and for his heart, both literally and figuratively. being there really made me realize how much i take for granted. there’s so much for which i have to be thankful, especially my health and the health of my family. i’m not confined to a room for three months. i have the liberty to go for a swim, a bike ride, or a run anytime i want. i’m not sure what is in store for spencer, but i do know that God is in control.
