.painting and teens.
2 June 2008since val moved out her room has been an empty room where the girls like to play dress-up. we plan on moving the girls into val’s room and moving our son over to their room. that way, we’ll have our study back and bedroom 4 doesn’t need to double as a nursery and study. so, this weekend we decided to paint the room. o gets pretty ambitious when it comes to these projects and she’s got a great eye for decoration. she came up with the idea to paint a neutral (light brown) for most of the wall, then a pink strip on the top all around the room to match the curtain we have. the pink strip is bordered by two inches of white above and below it. anyway, we spent all weekend painting. it was a lot of work and a lot of fun! jill, a 15-year old daughter of a friend, has been staying with us since thursday. it is such a blast to have a teen in our home. she of course has been a huge help around the house. but more than that, it’s great to have someone so mature and godly in our home. it’s been fun getting her perspective on life and many other things. she and o made bread yesterday. yummy! too bad she’ll be leaving us at the end of the week. it really makes me excited at the future and what it will be like to have teens in our home!
